Chickenfoot, El Corazon – Seattle (2008)

I was one of the very lucky few to see the Chickenfoot debut at the El Corazon in Seattle in 2008. Very late to upload these pics, but its never too late. One of the most memorable shows ever!

Sean Nelson, Neumos – Seattle

This was my first time seeing Sean Nelson. I’ve been wanting to see him for a while. A Seattle music scene veteran. I’ve heard a lot of good things about this man from Steve Fisk and wanted to check him out. Though i missed him on the last two occasions i planned to see him, this time i got lucky when he opened for The Baseball Project. What a joy! And what a cool person he is. I am sure I will keep an eye out to see what he is upto now on.

The Last Internationale, El Corazon – Seattle

Amazing show by the “The Last Internationale” at El Corazon in Seattle. I would have never found out about them had it not been Brad Wilk’s absence for Chris Cornell’s birthday party (Tom Morello and Tim Commerford had got together with Chris but no Brad Wilk). That made me explore what Brad was upto and led me to watch Last Internationale on Letterman. I also noticed that they were playing in Seattle. This band is awesome! Song writing, vocals, guitars, drums and their live act. All awesome!

Jack White, Paramount Theater – Seattle

Saw Jack White on both nights at the Paramount Theater. Given his performance at Bonnaroo, I was going with high expectations. I am also a huge White Stripes fan. All I can say is, seems like this isnt my cup of tea.

My Favourite Faded Fantasy

Damien Rice has announced a new album called “My Favourite Faded Fantasy”. How exciting! Just last week I was talking with my Irish team mate about how I wish he would release new material more often and here it was.

Nine Inch Nails, White River Amphitheater – Auburn

The last time I saw Nine Inch Nails (Key Arena – 2008), I realized that this is not the band for me. I saw them this time around as they were on tour with Soundgarden. I did not watch the entire show. I saw the first 4 songs. There were a bunch of electronics that were the rhythm section of the band along side with some guitars and base. They opened with “Copy of A” my favorite song from their new album. Still not my cup of tea…

Soundgarden, White River Amphitheater – Auburn

The mighty Soundgarden played at the White River Amphitheater as part of their summer tour with Nine Inch Nails. I’ve been lucky to have seen them on multiple occasions in the past. TADGarden, Nudedragons and then on their re-union tour and King Animal tour. My favorite shows will be TADGarden and Nudedragons. But the King Animal tour was also fantastic! I saw them thrice on that tour, the two Seattle shows and then the one in Portland, OR.

Coming back to the current show, it was a little disappointing. With all due respect to Nine Inch Nails, I feel they should have closed the evening with NIN opening. That did not happen. Their set was short. The sound was boomy, unlike how they sounded on their last tour. To this day, I can close my eyes and listen to Beyond the Wheel from the Nudedragons show. The crisp guitars, punchy base, the thundering drums and grinning faces all around. Thank you to the photographer for ruining the last moments by moving around the stage. AH!

Setlist:
Searching With My Good Eye Closed
Spoonman
The Day I Tried to Live
My Wave
Outshined
Jesus Christ Pose
Hunted Down
Fell on Black Days
Mailman
A Thousand Days Before
Burden in My Hand
Rusty Cage
Beyond the Wheel

Hopefully, I get to see them soon
