Vinicius Cantuária and Bill Frisell, Jazz Alley – Seattle

I love Bill Frisell! This time he was accompanying Vinicius Cantuária on acoustic guitar. Vinicius Cantuária is a singer songwriter who plays Brazilian Jazz. The show was made up of Vinicius Cantuária’s songs with Bill Frisell adding color to the sound. Airy and atmospheric music. Give the album a listen. One regret – wish the pictures came out better.

Tribute to Allman Brothers – Live at Fillmore East, The Royal Room – Seattle

Jeff Fielder is one of my favorite guitarists from Seattle. He put up this great show to pay his tribute to Allman Brothers Bands Live at Fillmore East. The played the album first song to the last and they played it really well. How I wish I can see Jeff Fielder play the blues and slide more often.

The band:
Jeff Fielder (guitar/vocals)
Chebon Tiger (guitar/harmonica)
Daniel Walker (keys)
Keith Lowe (bass)
Eric Eagle (drums)

Well, not new exactly but I bought me some music. Visited my favorite record store in the area and spent like ten bucks total for this collection.

Shakti – Natural Elements: $1, very good condition. 🙂

Taj Mahal – Giant Step: Early Taj. $2, like new!

Iron Butterfly – In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida: I am a little late to party. I’ve wanted to listen to this for a long time. I finally own it. Vinyl. $1. =)

Ella Fitzgerald Sings the Cole Porter Songbook: Bought this one for my wife. $5. Like new!

Oregon – Distant Hills. Super awesome. Ralph Towner is the guitarist of Oregon. $1. Like new. =)

Yob, El Corazon – Seattle

I dont know what it is about these doom metal band that I like but I do know I like it a lot. I feel I can meditate to that music. I’ve loved Neurosis each time I have seen them. That kinda made me discover Yob. Also, I love Tad Doyle. Tad’s new band, Brothers of the Sonic Cloth, opened for Yob and that was the first time I saw them. That was a great show and this was even better. Looking forward to their upcoming release.

Tedeschi Trucks Band, Marymoor Park – Redmond

Saw my favorite Tedeschi Trucks Band at Marymoor park here in the Seattle area. These guys had just got back into the United States after a Euro trip. These guys were hitting the note! The entire band was harmonizing and adding so much color to each others playing. Ear candy for sure! One of the most spectacular shows I have ever seen, and probably i will ever see. Too bad nobody taped the show. 😦

Deep Purple, Snoqualmie Casino – Seattle

Deep Purple at Snoqualmie. This was one of the last minute finds. LOL. I saw that they were playing on late Saturday evening after the Yob show. I first thought that the show was on Saturday night and had missed but later i realized the right schedule.

Show? Gosh, I feel very bad to say that they were not like how I remember them. Good show for sentimental reasons but the band lacked the punch… 😦
